So good I'm buying another Q7!
by Bubby on Monday, November 04, 2019
Excellent performance and pickup. This car goes up steep mountain roads easily and has pulled me out of many slippery roads (I'm a Realtor). Very sturdy, quiet, comfortable and easy to drive. Totally pleased with performance and ease of care. Stays good looking even when dirty! - 1.0
Unreliable electrics, worst customer service
by manosp on Saturday, December 22, 2018
I purchased a new Audi Q7 S-Line in 2011. Multiple repairs and recalls during and after warranty period. Electrical is particularly problematic. Changed first sensor door handle in 2014, under warranty. Now, with just over 70,000, all FOUR handles failed, had to replace new battery AND all four handles, total cost over $2,500. Clearly a manufacturer defect and if you search you'll find multiple complaints about the problem, so I called Audi Customer Service. The car was always dealer-maintained and repaired, with all records, but they've been "researching my inquiry" for over a month now with no decision. NOT what I would have expected of a "premium" car brand - 5.0
German family hauler

Fantastic all around vehicle. Not the most luxurious, not the fastest, not most reliable, but excellent blend of everything, depending on package level, off course, expectations, etc. This is the vehicle that family liked from day one and we made some great memories on several cross country trips. The engine is very capable and very economical in relative terms, transmission is actually Japanese Aisin 8-Spd (Toyota) and build quality is rather high. The Q7 looks and feels very fresh even after 140 thousand miles and 7 years of service. Interior is of great quality, no major mechanical breakdowns. NOX sensor has been a major reason for visiting service, other than that there's been work done under emissions update (2015 Dieselgate scandal). Given that diesels are becoming extinct these days, we'll likely miss our Q7 TDI once we replace it with an all electric SUV in the future (not that we are rushing it, at all).
